Cooking Instructions for our Grilled Mummy Hot Dogs
- Prepare grill for indirect heat and preheat grill to 350°F.
- Open and unwrap canned dough. Spread dough out on cutting board. Cut dough into four rectangles along the perforated edges. Pinch the diagonal pieces together to avoid separation. Take each of the four sections and cut across into long strips about the width of a straw.
- Unpack franks and wipe off moisture using a paper towel. Wrap each frank with about 4 strips of the dough. Crisscross some places and pinch the ends together to avoid separation. Leave some space unwrapped at one end where you want to put the eyes. When done, place mummy dogs on your Disposable Hot Dog Grill Topper. There should be four dogs per grill topper.
- Place mummy dogs over indirect heat and grill for 8-10 minutes. Cook until slightly golden. Check bottom of mummies at 5 minutes to make sure they do not burn.
- When done, remove your Disposable Hot Dog Grill Topper from grill and place on heat-resistant surface to cool for 5 minutes.
- Remove mummies from grill topper. If you have stubborn mummies, turn grill topper upside down and press through using a fork.
- Place a small drop of mustard or ketchup at the end as adhesive for the eyes. Carefully set candy eyeballs on top of the mustard or ketchup. Make sure your hands are not wet before you do this as it can cause the black in the eyeball to smudge.
- Enjoy your mummies with friends and family!
